We tend to picture farmers as ever-accompanied by their faithful dog--perhaps a drooping but loyal bloodhound. But we don't always pick our friends, even the four-legged variety. Abe Postelthwaite is a writer and gentleman farmer who can rarely be found without his faithful cat, Oliver, whether about his modest farm, or in town picking up supplies. The two are inseparable, and despite Oliver's diminutive size, one is well advised to be polite and respectful to Abe, lest they answer to his furry companion's claws. The pre-twilight colors have a slightly exaggerated, dreamlike quality in keeping with the sentimental feel of the piece.

"Sunset with Oliver" is painted in acrylics, pastel and colored pencil on a 10.5"x16.25" sheet of heavy, acid-free illustration board. All materials are the highest quality and archival. Immediate framing upon receipt to protect the pastel layers is recommended. Framing prior to shipping is available upon request.
